Exposure check is an on the go way to locally overlay popular exposure values used by cinematographers world wide. We specifically use both EL Zone and False Color standards.

This came out of a need from myself and other cinematographers who wanted to see where some movies and tv we admired were exposing their images.
-
We are mapping the IRE values of the actual images you give us so fairly accurate HOWEVER unlike doing it in camera, unless your feed it a LOG image no software like this will be 100% accurate but it will give you a good reference point.

EL Zone is a modern, stop-based exposure tool developed by Ed Lachman that maps color to specific exposure levels relative to 18% gray (0 = middle gray), behaving like a visual spot meter. Conversely, traditional False Color maps colors to IRE percentages (0-100%), which vary by camera log curve and require mental translation to stops.
